Monday Jan 4: Science Experiment- Snowflake pipe cleaners!

What you need:

-salt, jar, pipe cleaners, clothes pins or pencil

Tuesday January 5th: Winter storm in a jar!

What you need:

  • Baby oil (you can use vegetable oil as well but the liquid will be yellow)
  • White paint
  • Alka-Seltzer tablets
  • Clear glass jar
  • Paper towel or tissue paper
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Blue food coloring (optional)

How to make:

1. Fill up ¼ to 1/2 of the jar with water.

2. Add about a teaspoon of white paint in the water and stir to mix. The mixture should look like milk.

3. Fill up the rest of the jar with baby oil. Let the water and paint mixture settle to the bottom.

4. Add glitter in the mixture if desired

5. Add a few drops of blue food coloring if desired.

6. Let the water/paint mixture settle on the bottom.

7. Break up an Alka-Seltzer tablet and drop the broken up pieces one at a time into the jar.

8. Watch the magic happen!

 

Wednesday January 6th: workout!

 

Thursday January 7th: Snowball games!

What you need:

Cotton balls. glue. plastic dups (solo cups). buckets

Start by using the Elmer’s glue to stick the cotton balls together to make 10 snowballs. Use your imagination to come up with new games using the items above. Two starting games are stacking the 7-10 cups in a pyramid- stand 5 feet back and try to knock over as many cups as you can! Another game is to place buckets  on the ground, on furniture, and anywhere else you would like to make a target! See who can sink more snowballs in the target!
