Jean joined HOPE in June of 2013. Jean Weymer is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Industrial Relations at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, a Master’s degree in Industrial/organizational Psychology at the University of New Haven, and a Master’s degree in Counseling at National Louis University. Jean has completed trainings pertaining to Theraplay™, play therapy, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and suicide prevention. Jean was a foster parent for years, and understands the trials and tribulations of working with the system. She enjoys working with people of all ages, and has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has been described as genuine, empathetic, caring, and very easy to talk to. Jean provides a level of comfort as she creates a calm and trusting environment through her ability to connect well with her clients. Jean possesses an amazing sense of humor that is contagious and often lightens a heavy heart.
