To Andy a judgement free zone is essential, where people are free to face their lives and the world in an open and supportive way. He uses a balance of acceptance and change based strategies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, person-centered counseling, mindfulness-based therapies, and play-based and behavioral and emotional management help for children and families. He is in training to become a registered play therapist.

Andy loves outdoor activities like fishing, camping, hiking and canoeing. His favorite places to camp are in the wilderness areas of northern Minnesota and Michigan. Around the house, he enjoys gardening and horticulture, nature walks, reading and writing, and time with his wife and 3 children.
