Biography:

Jamilyn is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois and Advanced Practice Social Worker in Wisconsin. Jamilyn has been a therapist with HOPE since August 2023.
Jamilyn received her BS in psychology from Carroll University in 2015. Jamilyn worked within the community mental health scope as an adult mental health case manager for several years before returning to school for her master’s degree. Jamilyn received her Master’s in Social Work degree in August of 2021 from Aurora University.
Jamilyn has experience working with children and adolescents navigating the child welfare system; and adults in various roles, including caregivers and parents. Jamilyn also has experience working with adults facing chronic mental health challenges and crisis intervention for both youth and adults. Jamilyn utilizes a client-centered and strengths-based approach to therapy, while also incorporating family systems theory to consider healing the whole-person and environment. Jamilyn utilizes several interventions and frameworks within her approaches to therapy, including trauma-informed care, mindfulness practices, DBT (dialetical behavioral therapy), ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Jamilyn also utilizes aspects of play therapy and the polyvagal theory to encourage clients to build insight and connection with themselves and others. Jamilyn provides compassionate evidence-based care to individuals of all ages and provides both individual and family therapy. Jamilyn is currently obtaining hours for her clinical license (LCSW) and is interested in receiving certification in Play Therapy and Perinatal Mental Health. Jamilyn has a special interest in trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and perinatal and postpartum mental health.
