Kim began working for Hope Child and Family Counseling in January, 2020 after working as a therapist in the post adoption program with a private agency. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Dubuque with a concentration in psychology and social work, and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Aurora University. Kim has clinical experience in the field of trauma and grief, particularly as it relates to children in foster care system and adoptive families. She has received training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy with Daniel Hughes, Trust-Based Relational Intervention with Karyn Purvis, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Theraplay I, II. In addition, she has organized adoption support groups with adoptive parents and adolescents/children, and led trainings for adoptive parents, foster parents, clinicians and educators. Kim is licensed in both Wisconsin and Illinois.
In her spare time, Kim enjoys traveling with her husband of 32 years, working in the yard, solving Sudokus, spending time with her grown daughters and camping.
