Michelle joined HOPE in July of 2011. Michelle completed her Masters of Science in Human Services/Counseling from National-Louis University. She has worked with children, families, and adults in a variety of community settings including child protection and early intervention since 2005. Michelle has experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families with a broad range of developmental, mental health, and adjustment issues. Michelle is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) through the Association of Play Therapy, Certified in Brainspotting, Certified in Interactive Metronome, and is Credentialed as an Early Intervention Specialist and Evaluator. She has also been trained in Theraplay™ techniques. Michelle is highly sought after for her work with adults and children. She is skilled in therapeutic interventions that promote healthy interactions between family members. Michelle incorporates her experiences and knowledge from her work as a Family Service Coordinator for the Early Intervention Program. She has a strong understanding of development and is cognizant of the importance in integrating individual developmental needs into therapeutic modalities. She has a keen understanding of how sensory processing as well as brain development plays into social and emotional health. Michelle also connects well with adolescent and adult clients while guiding them towards healthier perspectives and emotional well-being. Michelle provides trainings for school districts promoting education around mental health, support for staff, and strategies/resources for students.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to traveling places with mountains and oceans.
